Love Out Loud for Billy Porter

Before embarking on a career as a mainstream pop vocalist, Billy Porter built a substantial reputation as a theatrical singer in Broadway productions such as Grease and Smokey Joe's Cafe. He made his initial impact by placing "Love Is On The Way" on the soundtrack to the film First Wives' Club, in 1996. His debut album, Untitled, is firmly anchored in traditional R&B territory, with several key ballads.

According to L. Michael Gipson: "His voice is one for the ages and it soon found a home back on Broadway starring in everything from a revival of Grease to a landmark recording of Dreamgirls: In Concert. No less than Rosie O’Donnell fell in love with Billy’s talent and had him appear on her show innumerable times." This multi-faceted performer, well known to New York City audiences, will grace us with his presence on May 12th at Prohibition.

Loving Matt Walton and Kevin Spirtas

We have the good fortune to have two good friends to POZ on board for the AIDS Walk fundraiser on May 12, 2010 at Prohibition.

Currently Matt can be seen burning up the airwaves as attorney Elijah Kent on ABC TV’s One Life to Live.

Meanwhile check the man out on the web as The Onion 's Sports guru Tim Devannon. This has been picked up by Comedy Central. Therefore, look for Matt’s wicked sense of humor to become part of your Cable TV prime time line up. Speaking of which many should be lining up for what promises to be—well, great fun!

NCAA Expands March Madness To Include 4,096 Teams

Many remember Mr. Spirtas as the scoundrel Dr. Craig Wesley on Days of Our Lives, a character that moonlighted opposite Joey on Friends. Many are familiar with him as Hugh Jackman’s stand by in The Boy from Oz.

Kevin Spirtas has been producing Finian’s Rainbow, performing in last winter’s Loaded and flying out to Palm Springs to perform with good friend, Linda Purl. Many remember Mr. Spirtas as the scoundrel Dr. Craig Wesley on Days of Our Lives, a character that moonlighted opposite Joey on Friends. Many are familiar with him as Hugh Jackman’s stand by in The Boy from Oz. Go here for updates on this very busy man.

We consider it our good fortune to have these two fine men on board. Look for more exciting news in the near future.

Update: Love Out Loud for Stewart Lewis

Stewart Lewis will be coming out to Prohibition to meet, greet and entertain all in attendance. Love Out Loud takes place on May 12, 2010 from 5:30 to 9:00pm and suppports AIDS Walk New York.

Neil Plakcy at GayWired [go here to read it] referred to the fetching Mr. Lewis as a triple threat. If threats be the food of admiration, threaten us, please. It was a reference to his three major talents as a singer/songwriter/novelist. No doubt there are more. So, here are some images of the young man accompanied by a video by virtue of Here! and YouTube. Best thing about the Electronic Age is that it provides easy access to the good stuff and this is good stuff.

Here’s some official biographical information:

Stewart Lewis' soulful blend of pop and folk has been featured on Ghost Whisperer, MTV's Laguna Beach, Joan of Arcadia, Dawson's Creek, Biggest Loser, and the 20th Century Fox feature film Firehouse Dog. He has shared the stage with Grammy winner Shawn Colvin and indie stalwart Ani Difranco. Recently, Stewart has become the very first artist signed to the Here! TV Network and Regent Entertainment's new music venture, Here! Tunes, who just released his new CD, In Formation. He is also the author of the semi-autobiographical novel Rockstarlet, and Relative Stranger (praised by Augusten Burroughs) both from Alyson Books.
